Archie Markham MA Writing Short Story Scholarship

Applicants to the MA Writing (Short Story) have the opportunity to apply for this scholarship, which waives the fee for full-time study on the degree. The scholarship is awarded to the best short story portfolio submitted with the application for a place on the course.

The judges are Hilary Mantel and Maggie Gee, Visiting Professors at the English Department.

The award is in honour of Professor Emeritus E. A. Markham (1939-2008), who was a tutor at Sheffield Hallam University and a guiding spirit for the MA Writing.
